cod fishing 5-20-07
Today we had repeat customer Erin Shehan and her boyfriend and two of her friends from Canada.With the weather forecast not looking too good we left plymouth harbor at 9 a,m.We went to the north west corner of stellwagen bank in about 100 feet of water.We had a steady pick of cod and haddock all day with a few sand sharks and a lot of short cod in the mix.We ended an eight hour trip with about a dozen keeper cod and two dozen keeper haddock.The ride out was a little rough but other than the rain showers and the ride out the seas were calm all day.They also saw a dozen or so humpback whales feeding within a couple hundred yards of the boat for most of the day,one of them came so close that I jumped when it surfaced ten feet behind the boat.
