Plymouth Kids Fish Camp

Kids Fishing Charters are a fun way to introduce boys and girls to saltwater fishing, boating and the marine/outdoor environment. These trips are also for kids who already have a passion for fishing and the outdoors. This program is open to kids from 9-17 years old. Our vessels are handicap accessible, as we also provide disabled Veteran fishing trips. Many of the kids who have fished with us tell their friends "It was the best part of their summer vacation!"

What We Do

All trips begin with a dockside safety brief about the boat and safety gear aboard. We then head out and catch live bait. The kids will catch Mackerel, Squid, Herring, or Menhaden. We then use these baits in various ways to entice the bite of Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke or other fish. Depending on the bite, and the weather, we may head out a bit further into Cape Cod Bay and do some bottom fishing for Cod, Haddock Redfish, or even Tuna!
On at least one of the three trips, we will stop and pull up a few of the Captain's lobster or crab traps. The kids will measure, and keep any legal lobsters, see what else may be in the traps, (bycatch), and then re-bait the traps. All while learning about the circle of life in the sea.
Once back at the dock, the mate will fillet any keepers and while doing so, let the kids examine the fish's anatomy, as well as stomach contents. A pretty cool biology lesson on top of it all!
The filleted fish and lobster will be divided up between the kids to take home for dinner.
